With a similar climate to the South of England, Normandy is a diverse area, offering a relaxed pace of life, fresh local produce, proximity to sandy beaches, and many sites of historic and cultural interest.
It boasts over 3 million inhabitants and is divided into Lower and Upper Normandy, and thereafter into 5 “départements” – Seine Maritime (76), Orne (61), Manche (50), Eure (27) and Calvados (14).
Although we are concentrating on the western part of the department of the Eure and into Calvados – one of the most accessible and interesting areas, and one of which we have first hand knowledge, should you be interested in other areas of Normandy, please contact us, we are happy to help.
Pont Audemer is the centre of this chosen region – a traditional Norman town criss-crossed by small canals and known historically for its tanneries. Close to Rouen, Monet’s garden at Giverny, the Normandy landing beaches and the Bayeux tapestries, this area also offers many opportunities for cycling, walking and playing golf, as well as enjoying the sandy beaches of Deauville and Trouville and the picturesque port of Honfleur.
With its many specialities such as cheeses, seafood, cider and Calvados, Normandy offers a wealth of local produce for you to enjoy.
